Introducing: cake club— the (as far as we know) only club where you spend an entire two hours decorating and eating cake. This February we'll be joined by the incredible Jamie Rothenberg of FoodJars! We'll get her hottest cake decorating tips before decorating our own 4in HEART SHAPED layered cakes with all the love-themed works. We’ll then all gather around the table to eat one of Jamie’s cakes, and sip on warm bevvies and befriend strangers. The (heart shaped) cake you'll be decorating: Olive Oil Cake with Vanilla Swiss Meringue Butttercream + choose your filling! Filling options include: chocolate pudding, whipped cream, and citrus curd Decor includes: Assorted Fruit, Edible Glitter and Pearls, Florals Each guest will leave with a little more cake-decor know how, their uniquely decorated mini cake, their sweet tooth fully satisfied + hopefully a new friend <3 It will be cozy & creative & fun & communal and we can’t WAIT to decorate + dine with you. All materials provided. This cake club unfortunately cannot accommodate for dietary restrictions. !!Please note!! This is NOT a highly technical cake decorating workshop. We'll demo filling the cake, frosting the cake, attaching piping tips using couplers and talk through different design decisions. The beauty of this event is all of the grunt work of baking, sourcing and clean up are done for you— you get to just show up, experiment, create, yap + eat cake! It's precious. What can I expect from a club at RecCreate? We design all of our clubs at RecCreate to feel like going over to a friends apartment for a craft hang where they took care of grabbing all the materials and show you the basics before the music starts bumping! Our emphasis is on process, play and community building, with conversation prompts throughout. This is NOT a workshop! Getting Here The venue is a ~hidden~ art studio located at 20 Grand ave in brooklyn on the 6th floor of a commercial building! When you arrive, buzz #604, push to open and take the elevator up to 6 (push the elevator button until it turns red.!!) Take a right out of the elevator, and a left at the end of the hallway. The door will be the first one on your right. Cancelation Policy Unfortunately for this event tickets are non-refundable/exchange-able! Please double check your calendar. In the event you are no longer able to make it, you are welcome to give your ticket to a friend or swap it on our ticket swap board. Just tell them to use your name! Photography Disclaimer Though we do our best to keep all photography / video to a minimum, please note all guests who attend consent to being photographed and videoed which may be used for marketing or promotional purposes.
